Job Objective

The Léal Vineyards collection of properties in Santa Clara and San Benito counties is a portfolio of places that reflect living the Central Coast way of life through beautiful, natural settings, agricultural sensibility, gracious hospitality, and exceptional culinary and wine experiences. We are currently looking for a motivated and passionate Wedding & Event Coordinator to help create lasting and meaningful moments for couples and families celebrating their special occasions as well as corporations commemorating important milestones.

The Wedding & Event Coordinator should be a professional, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, multi-tasking, self-starting individual who will be responsible for communicating with contracted clients to ensure each detail and vision of their special day is fulfilled.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide key assistance to the Event Manager
  • Assist with coordination of event details and timelines
  • Work with the guest(s) of honor to ensure all requests are met
  • Ensure banquet staff is adequately prepared for each event
  • Coordinate staffing requirements and staff briefings
  • Ensure the day of the event goes smoothly
  • Assist with setup and tear down of decorations as needed
  • Produce details for events (timelines, BEO, layouts)
  • Greet guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
  • Communicate with the lead catering staff regarding any special needs
  • Ensure events run on time
  • Run event rehearsal – include instruction for ushers, family seating, and wedding party processional and recessional
  • Coordinate with the florist, photographer, videographer, DJ, and minister upon arrival to review the event timeline
  • Ensure everyone is in the right location per the event schedule
  • Assist guests of honor with any special requests for the day of
  • Maintain high standards for safety and cleanliness in all areas of the property
  • Maintain proper dining experience, deliver items, fulfill customer needs, remove courses, replenish items and refill glasses as needed
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from a guest to the Event Manager and/or General Manager
  • Drive company golf carts, at an appropriate speed and with caution
  • Being a team player is essential

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Competences:

  • A college degree in hospitality or equivalent work experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Food Handler Certificate
  • Must possess and maintain a California Responsible Beverage Server Training Certificate
  • Possess and maintain current California Driver License with satisfactory driving record
  • Must have basic computer skills; including working with Microsoft
  • Previous serving experience required
  • Must possess superior hospitality, sales, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and deductive reasoning abilities
  • Excellent organization skills and time management skills
  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm to resolve problems using good judgment
  • Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with our dress code policy.
  • Able to work under pressure and remain calm
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team

Working Conditions

  • May be in an indoor or outdoor setting, dependent on event location
  • Varied weather conditions are expected
  • Varied schedule to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours of business
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time around large venues and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds
