Ulster BOCES is seeking an experienced Website Administrator for a full-time, 12-month position to work within the Community Relations Department.
12/08/2022
Our busy Communications office is seeking a website administrator to handle a wide range of creative, technical, and customer service tasks— including planning designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting—to keep website content for various school districts fresh, backed up, and fully functional. Website administrators must have a thorough knowledge of web maintenance and web development, as well as skills in front-end development (design) that contribute to a website's appearance and usability, and strong communication, planning, organizing, and customer service skills to work with client districts and agency departments to execute their requests.
The website administrator ensures that a website is maintaining the image that an organization (in this case, a school district and/or Ulster BOCES) wishes to convey. This can involve working on the technical side of websites, such as troubleshooting issues, setting up web hosts, and ensuring users have access. However, a website administrator will also help with user-facing aspects of a website, like its appearance, navigation, content quality, and use of media. This often includes designing web pages within a website, choosing fonts and colors for written text, and formatting additional media—like images, audio files or videos—to display correctly. Work is done in collaboration with others, and requires bringing the vision of the communication team and district staff to fruition. Attention to customer service is essential. Writing skills and attention to detail are essential.
