Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Media/Web Assistant (Temporary Part-Time) for the department of Rutgers Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOSHI). The position reports to the Unit Computing and Communication Specialist. The position is responsible for the maintenance and updates EOHSI dynamic and responsive web pages and websites in collaboration with web development and content manager.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Writes and edits web and social media content.
- Works closely with the UCCS to build immersive digital experiences on desktop, mobile and social media platforms
- Works closely with the UCCS on the website redesign project, serving as backup project manager when needed.
- Carries out routine and non-routine tasks with occasional review of work by supervisor.
- Shoots and edits photos and videos for websites & social media.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant or related experience depending on the duties to be performed.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English.
- Communication, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge, skill, and understanding of website management and publishing, social media management for a higher education institution or equivalent brand, and digital marketing reporting.
- PHP, MySQL and SEO skills helpful but not required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with WordPress & Drupal Content Management Systems.
- Must be experienced with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere), analytics programs (Google Analytics, Parsely, Adobe Analytics, etc).
- Must have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Must be organized and detailed oriented with strong planning and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines.
