Growing Metro Detroit advertising agency is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Web Designer.

Our ideal candidate is a self-taught digital guru with 3+ years of experience using Shopify, WordPress or similar CMS page builders to create beautiful websites and landing pages that work to accomplish their goal (be that lead generation, ecommerce, or other form of measurable conversion)

Most of the websites we create are in Shopify or WordPress, though there may be some instances where other tools can be used, including flat-file HTML. Especially for simple landing pages and one-off campaigns.

An emphasis on UX and conversion is a must. As such, producing lean pages that load very quickly (especially on phones) is also a must!

This position will have a massive impact, both on us as a company, as well as our clients and we couldn’t be more excited to integrate someone with such desired capabilities!

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with creative director, copywriter and other members of the creative team to come to an understanding of project directions and needs.
• Design websites and landing page mockups and present your ideas to the team.
• Build those mockups into fully working websites in the browser.
• Stay current on web design trends and best practices.

Requirements:

• A love for user-centered and sales-focused design and results
• A good eye for aesthetics and quality design
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience building and/or editing Shopify themes
• Experience building WordPress themes and plugins is a plus
• Basic understanding of accessibility standards and website best practices
• Ability to write clean, lean, web markup is a big plus
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once
• Focus on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement
• Ability to work both independently and with other team members

Preferred Skills / Not Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, graphic design, multimedia design, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience as a web developer
• Creative or agency experience a plus
• Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Google Analytics
• Digital Marketing Knowledge
• Marketing Platform Knowledge

This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join an established and expanding firm.

While work may be done remotely as needed, this is not a remote position. Candidate will need to be living in or moving to the Metro Detroit area.

The Agency

We are Jekyll + Hyde Labs, a fiercely independent full-service advertising agency in Metro Detroit, with a primary focus on the niche of challenger brand CPG (consumer packaged goods). We handle national client campaigns from concept to reality, including strategy, research, creative, production, traditional, digital, and social media planning/placement under one roof.

Our production work includes television and radio spots, websites, banner ads, advertorials, print ads and more.
