Role:

The Web Content Coordinator integrates new content into the content management system (CMS) and manages governance of existing content updates across uwa.edu. This position works within the Office of Strategic Communications (alongside marketing, public relations, and social media) to create and maintain website content under deadlines. This position requires a balance of effective communication through writing and design with technical abilities for maintaining governance and navigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, upload, edit, and organize web content, including text, images, videos, and documents.
  • Maintain site governance and guidelines.
  • Uphold University’s graphic standards through website management.
  • Maintain site content through collaboration and ensure the functionality of integrations with other necessary platforms.
  • Develop content for special projects and initiatives following current trends and strategies.
  • Execute tasks according to all internal publishing workflows and processes, including social integrations and promotions.
  • Collaborate with departments throughout campus to manage website content and ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely updates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues through collaboration.
  • Maintain best practices as established by the department and industry standards.
  • Maintain a collaborative, problem-solving working relationship with internal stakeholders.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (web design, business, communications, or related fields with relevant experience).
  • Demonstrated experience working in WordPress, WordPress plug-ins, jquery, various analytic platforms, optimization technologies, and marketing automation technologies.
  • Proven work experience in social and digital media (social platforms, websites, HTML email) following visual communication principles.
  • WCAG certification (certification underway may be considered).
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in content management of relevant scale and scope.
  • Experience with Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat (extensive experience with Creative Suite/Cloud preferred).
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality web content with customer service orientation.
  • Ability to learn new tools and applications quickly.
  • Experience with basic HTML and CSS.
  • Functional understanding of site construction, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Experience in responsive design and development and website performance-based best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with individuals clearly and proactively across teams and departments.
  • Resourceful, team player, high energy, and flexible.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to troubleshooting and implementing solutions.
