Who We Are Looking For
The Data Product team at Fidelity is looking for an Data Analysis and Operations leader who is inquisitive, ambitious and has a sense of urgency in solving business problems using data. This person will lead the design and architecture for the Data Product team in our discovery, definition, and governance of productizing data across Fidelity.
The Role

We are looking for a Vice President of Data Analysis and Information Engineering who will be instrumental in establishing, evolving, and continually adapting Data Strategy for end-to-end data solutions. You will achieve this by effectively partnering with other leaders including Architecture and Product areas across the organization in an agile environment. In this servant-leadership role you will bring industry-leading insights, influence strategic decisions, and develop your teams through your own curiosity, critical thinking, and growth mindset.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years of proven experience in data areas (data structures, data analysis, API development and data migrations)
- A minimum of 5 years Hands on experience with software development, data engineering with java, spring or similar
- Define a data blueprint that utilizes available & emerging technologies, standards, techniques and systems for efficiently running the data lifecycle & data governance for multi-country roll-outs
- Define data principles, IT standards and ensure compliance with them. Continuously improve the Data acquisition, Data use, Governance and business coordination plans.
- Partnering with multiple technical and business Leaders across business units to influence strategic decisions related to your area of expertise
- Participate and lead the designing of methods and processes for a sustainable enterprise data architectures & data governance strategy, prepare decision documents and decision templates as required.
- Experience in API development, engineering using OpenAPI 3.0 standard or similar
- Knowledge of Financial services and technology systems preferred
- Knowledge of Data Aggregation and data rights management methods
- Proven ability to inspire and lead with excellent communication and people-interaction skills
- Champion data domain solution architecture to design strategic target state data & technology architectures for the application and technology areas.
- Manage and define operations functions, policy, process and procedures for supporting the data aggregation platforms.
- Work towards Improving the data aggregation platform by tracking emerging technologies; evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements.
- Provide senior-level support or guidance to technical support team and Product Development teams as needed
- Provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem-solving ability to customer
- Working with the leadership team to drive improvements and resolve impediments across the domains
- Measuring performance through established important metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results
- Effective facilitator and can resolve complicated technical issues
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills that enable you to engage cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
What we value
These skills will help you succeed in this role:
- Experience with Data Ops tools and technology setup using current standards.
- 3+ Experience BI, Data Science and Analytics tools packages are current in-use and up to date with upcoming trends.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Solutioning in cloud ecosystems
- Exposure and/or experience working on governance platforms like IGC, informatica, collibra, Allation, Manta etc.
- 5+ years experience with reference technologies in data architecture such as snowflake, cloud RDS Services, RDBMS transactional databases, MPP data warehouse, object storage, etc.
- Experience in hands-on development one or prefrably more of the following technologies:
- XML, JSON, Java, Spring, SpringBoot, SQL, GraphQL, REST/OpenAPI 3.0 or better, MQ/kafka messaging
- Experience with methods for the design, planning and implementation of enterprise architectures (EA), preferably according to international standards such as TOGAF, Zachman, DCAM, FIBO etc.
- Strong “soft” skills in collaboration, facilitation, coordination, logistics, presentation, marketing, and communication, as well as excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Outstanding project management skills; proficient with project management tools and techniques; can easily manage multiple issues simultaneously.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, prioritization and negotiating abilities.
- Able to tolerate and operate in areas of uncertainty and ambiguity.
- Self-confidence, high energy and tenacity in bringing issues to closure.
- Experience in implementing enterprise grade data services
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for compliance and retention of data is a plus.
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science / Business / MIS (or equivalent work experience)
- A minimum of three years of experience in data platforms, software development and analysis preferably in global financial services institutions.
