The ideal candidate will demonstrate and encourage professionalism in the workplace. They will also be expected to help guide the technical support staff, provide mentorship while helping employees grow within the hospital. Advanced communication skills and the ability to keep their team informed and focused is a must. The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering the highest quality patient care with exceptional client service.
The ideal candidate meets the following requirements:
- Certified veterinary technician (preferred) with a minimum of five years technical experience, and 2 years supervisory/management experience preferred.
- Professional demeanor and appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive, friendly attitude
- Ability to plan, organize, make decisions, and communicate effectively and clearly with fellow team members, clients and doctors.
- Able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities.
- Must be able to work full-time hours, flexibility a must, including occasional holidays.
- Strong medical skills
In the supervisor role your responsibilities will include but not but not limited to:
- Directing workflow on the floor
- Help with the interview process for potential new hires.
- Technician Scheduling
- Assists in staffing and coverage where needed.
- Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills.
- Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training.
- Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience.
- Mentoring technicians within the department
- Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service.
- Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
This position is a working supervisory position. We want you to use the skills you have gained over your years in the profession and help you to continue to grow!
The pay range for this position is $30-$35 /hour.
