Columbia Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced, motivated Veterinary Assistant. Location 4330 River Trail Way, The Dalles, OR 97058

Job Type - Full-time/Part-time

Must be able to work weekends

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Previous animal care background.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS • Minimum of 18 years old.

• Genuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to provide quality care when they are stressed, ill or in pain.

• Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis.

• Is well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature.

• Can support and be a part of teamwork; works well with all levels of hospital team members.

• Has excellent client communication skills.

• Physical Effort: Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs). Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.

Veterinary Assistant

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.

Maintaining medical records.

Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients.

Filling prescriptions.

Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.

Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
