LINCOLN WATER COMMISSION
FULL-TIME UTILITY PERSON
Lincoln, Rhode Island
The Lincoln Water Commission (LWC) is accepting applications for a full-time UTILITY PERSON. Under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Superintendent and Foreman, the duties of the Utility Person will include daily and periodic field functions to be performed in connection with the maintenance and operations of the water distribution system within the town of Lincoln. These functions and duties include, but are not limited to, the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of water mains, hydrants, valves, services, and appurtenances; assisting with the repair and maintenance of equipment at the pumping and water storage facilities; performing landscaping maintenance of the grounds of the respective water facilities; responding to and performing field duties associated with customer service requests; assisting with emergency response services during and beyond working hours; performing weekly and periodic water system sampling for water quality testing; performing quarterly water meter reading duties; assist with the installation of meter replacements; assisting with the periodic flushing of the water system at select locations within the system; assisting with the implementation and monitoring of security measures at the system facility sites; preparation of accurate as-built field information for the updating of service records and the GIS system by others; conducting physical inventory of equipment and material supplies as directed by the foreman; and participating in training and educational workshops pertaining to the rules, regulations, and practices associated with public drinking water facilities, as directed by the LWC management.
Ideal candidate: The Utility Person is required to currently hold, or be able to obtain a Water Distribution I operator certification license, and a CDL license, within one year of the date of hire. The candidate shall possess good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for customer service interactions. Accuracy and attention to construction details and field locations is desirable.
Requirements: High School diploma and OSHA 10-hour Safety Training Certification.

Starting Hourly Rate: $ 26.18 per hour/ 40-hours per week with full benefit package available.
