POSITION SUMMARY:

• To operate lining and molding equipment assigned by supervisor. To properly perform order, color and material changes and machine start-ups/shut-downs. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs order changes: enters startup and shutdown into RF system;
• Performs color changes; notifies supervisor of color change status;
• Verifies raw materials comply with work requirements;
• Samples and visually inspects production, records quality problems and puts product on hold by entering process correction;
• Informs supervisor of substandard production quality;
• Checks material status and calls for more materials if necessary;
• Checks that all machine sensors and guards are operating properly;
• Informs supervisor of machine problems and fills out maintenance work requests;
• Cleans machines and work areas of material, caps, oil, etc., clean filers, scheduled sanitation duties;
• Fills and empties color and virgin hoppers;
• Segregates scrap material;
• Relieves Mold Techs during breaks;
• Backup Mold Tech for other shifts; Covers for absences/vacations on other shifts;
• Follows all GMP guidelines;
• Adheres to all safety rules and procedures;
• Completes all necessary documentation for all assigned machines. Follow manufacturing Work Order (BOM);
• Scissor Lift Certification;
• Any other duties as assigned by Supervision/Management.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attends Green Area Meetings;
• Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures;
• Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions;
• Sorts through and visually inspects rejected cartons;
• Backup: Mold Technician.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent;
• Good verbal and written skills.

EXPERIENCE:

• Mechanical aptitude required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Pushing or Pulling (5-25 lbs. typically 40 – 70% of the day) – broom, scrap boxes/gaylords; (25-60 lbs. typically 15-40% of the day) – color barrels, liner material;
• Lifting or Carrying (5-25 lbs. typically 0-15% of the day) – scrap material; (25-60 lbs. typically 15-40% of the day) buckets of color;
• Simple grasping (15-70%);
• Firm grasping (15-70%).

EQUIPMENT USED:

• Screwdriver, hammer, Allen wrenches, manual pallet jack, channel locks, torch, welding gloves, scissor lift, grinder, face shield, forklift. Other equipment, as assigned.
