We are a multidisciplinary team bringing together UX design, visual design, content strategy, and user research to deliver excellent user experiences for our customers. The User Researcher will directly assist the team with a wide range of projects regarding understanding user behaviors, attitudes, needs and pain points in the eCommerce space. In this position, the Researcher will demonstrate skills in User-Centered Design processes, research tools, data visualization, conducting interviews, understanding eCommerce landscape, understanding ethics in sustainability, and interpersonal skills working with customers and designers.
What You'll Do:
As a User Researcher for the SSB Family of Brands, you will:
1. Create qualitative and usability insights reporting for features that are designed but not implemented yet. Present recommendations for what is working, what isn’t working, and what to change.
2. Create an analysis and provide actionable recommendations from findings on customer behaviors, needs and pain points while shopping for a major home good purchase that fits the brands audience.
3. Create a customer journey, opportunities and pain points for shoppers that actively engage with sustainable practices to develop a long term roadmap of site implementaitons.
4. You attend planning sessions and can lead a planning session. You can propose metholog(ies) and write a user research script. You lead recruiting and compensation for the research with minimal input from a senior member. You can comfortably switch between facilitating and note taking in execution of research. You leverage affinity mapping and other frameworks to lead making sense of the various data points into insights. You create insights reports based on insights
5. With guidance from a more senior team member, you run small to medium usability/research studies and analyze the data. You use qualitative research data (from yourself and other team members) to inform your projects and make decisions. You seek to expand your research skills and learn/try new methodologies.
6. You use qualitative data from Google Analytics, Hotjar, and market research to help inform your design recommendations. You check your designs after launch in Hotjar to make sure they are functioning properly. You leverage Hotjar to come up with hypotheses and compare user interaction as we release different version of a design.
7. You adhere to project timelines and communicate any possible delays to the project team ASAP. You consistently use our project management software to stay organized, document, and communicate project updates and statuses. You are comfortable proposing your own process and timeline for small to medium projects.
8. You are comfortable coordinating and leading a successful medium-sized ideation session with anyone inside the company. You know when to collaborate with others to increase the quality of the work. You are able to ”yes, and…” others' ideas and use them to build better ideas together. You know how to keep the group on track and moving toward the specified goal. You can elegantly move a conversation forward when it gets off track. You actively seek out, encourage, and build on ideas from non-creatives.

Bachelor’s Undergraduate Academic degree(s) closely related to the following: Marketing, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Fine Arts
