As an Underwriting Insurance Trainee, you will work under close and direct supervision while developing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to independently analyze, set policy terms and effectively manage an assigned book of business through independent agents. During required training, you will become familiar with Underwriting’s operations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Essential Job Functions:
Complete a thirteen-week training program at our Austin corporate office with an expected start date of June 5, 2023.
During the training program, you will learn the skills required to:
- Conduct appropriate investigation and documentation, exercise sound underwriting judgement and make productive decisions. Use critical thinking to solve problems for all stakeholders.
- Analyze, assess, propose, negotiate, and write new and renewal workers’ compensation policies with general guidance to meet company written premium goals.
- Participate in the management and relationship development of key agents through field visits, effective communication, value proposition presentations, top tier service delivery, and identifying and pursuing appropriate business opportunities.
- Analyze workload, establish priorities, and manage the desk to focus on agents' needs, while meeting or exceeding company's quality and time service standards. Execute book management goals through evaluation of book & account performance and taking appropriate action to improve results.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.
- 0-2 years of experience in clerical, customer service, office, or insurance experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Upon completion of the training program, you will relocate to your assigned regional office. Our regional offices are located in Austin, Dallas, and Houston.
