• Proficient in obtaining images for basic cardiac scans according to ICAL Standards.
• Organizes and directs the flow of patients through the ECHO Lab to ensure the quality of care.
• Performs echocardiograms on all age groups in a timely manner and assists the physician in reading.
• Maintains records and files related to echocardiograms.
• Performs EKGs and GXTs as needed.
• Maintains clean and workable equipment and work area.
• Demonstrates cost-conscious behaviors by utilizing equipment and supplies efficiently.
• Responds to "STAT" calls as defined in departmental policies.
• Performs basic cardiac life support as needed.

• Is a high school graduate or equivalent with successful completion of on-the-job training.
• Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
• Must be able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English.

• Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Is able to push stretcher/wheelchair with an average adult patient.
• Is able to do frequent stooping and on occasion crouching, crawling, or kneeling.
• Ability to reach reasonable distances in any direction.
• Ability to run in emergency situations.
• Must be able to move fingers in a coordinated manner.
• Must have the ability to feel and perceive temperature, texture, shape, and size with fingertips.
