- This position is responsible for overseeing tutors and students at the Mid-Valley Literacy Center (MVLC).
- The person in this position is the first point of contact and is responsible for answering the phone and greeting and assisting students, tutors, and all persons visiting the MVLC.
- The successful candidate will represent and promote the mission and vision of the MVLC in the community.
- The position requires the ability to work with minimal supervision, requires sound judgment, and a high degree of personal integrity.
- The ideal candidate will be a team player, outgoing, independent, and confident with a passion for helping others.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be 18 years old or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
- 1 year minimum experience in an office setting.
- Ability to work 9:30am to 3:30pm or 3:00pm to 8:00pm (TBD),
- Have a valid work permit.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Possess excellent communication and listening skills and ability to empathize with students and tutors.
- Ability to multi-task and have excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Personal character and integrity, which guides ethical standards and practices of your work.
- Possess excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Access, and Google Docs.
- Understands, develops and provides a learning environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Ability to interact with people of varying social, economic and educational backgrounds.
- Preference given to candidates who identify as bi-cultural or as a minority or that relate to the population we serve.
- Ability to successfully motivate and connect with others, be a positive role model, and maintain positive relationships.
