The Opportunity:
Mattel Tax is seeking a Transfer Pricing Senior Analyst to join the Mattel Transfer Pricing team within the Tax Department. This position will report to Senior Director Tax – Transfer Pricing and work closely with other members of the transfer pricing team. The successful candidate will also work with various business groups within the Company, third party service providers, and other Tax Department professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Perform global transfer pricing analysis for quarterly tax provision and year end provision. This includes pulling data from various financial/accounting systems and perform profit level analysis according to the transfer pricing principles and guidelines.
- Collect and prepare data and analysis for various core transfer pricing documentations and support local country documentations.
- Support global transfer pricing audits, which includes collecting and preparing data in response to tax authorities’ requests and modeling to evaluate different potential audit outcome.
- Assist in determining intercompany crosscharges between Mattel US and foreign subsidiaries, which includes collecting detailed data from the GL or other financial systems and perform allocation analysis. This project also includes preparing journal entries for the crosscharges.
- Assist with performing annual analysis for setting intercompany price for various core intercompany transactions within Mattel’s global supply chain.
- Perform analysis and annual reports for Dutch and US customs filings.
- Assist with Country-by-Country reporting.
- Demonstrate interest in embracing technology to enhance and improve the transfer pricing processes and help drive efficiencies through automations wherever possible.
- Coordinate projects and transfer pricing matters with external advisors.
- Assist the Senior Director with any ad hoc projects, as well as tax planning or other special projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or Finance preferred or equivalent experience.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of transfer pricing experience in a transfer pricing practice within a public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department
- Or minimum 3 years of Corporate tax experience or international tax experience within a public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department, but interested in learning and growing in transfer pricing area
- Big 4 public accounting experience a STRONG plus
- Experience with conducting benchmarking study and economic analysis for TP documentations is a plus but not required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills .
- Attention to details is a must.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficient and skilled with excel and other analytical tools
- Oracle, HFM and HPT experience is a STRONG plus
- Experience in effectively managing competing priorities and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to effectively communicate with varying stakeholders and business units.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work well as a team member and willing to collaborate cross functionally within the Tax Dept.
- The annual base salary range for this position is between 108k and 136k. **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
