Description

SAIC is seeking a Training Analyst I to support the US Navy in San Diego, CA.

Note: This is a part time casual/on call position. Candidates do not have to relocate for this position. This is a flexwork opportunity with approximately 25% travel. Travel is a large part of the job as this position may require travel to any of the US 56 states and territories. Additional skills required are good technical writing skills and some public speaking experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Training Analyst I will assist the Training Analyst Manager and Operations team by planning and evaluating virtual, tabletop, functional and full scale public safety/communications-based exercises in various parts of the US.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Work with the Training Analyst Manager and Operations team on exercise planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Assist public safety stakeholders with communications SOG/SOP plan development, including tactical interoperable communications plans, field operations guides, COOP and migration plans
  • Assist public safety stakeholders with technical guidance on industry standard best practices/usage
  • Research, analyze, and make recommendations about new technologies that will contribute to the ICTAP program
  • Provides technical expertise in the consideration of equipment and best practices for specific technical areas of experience (Examples- Aviation, Encryption, etc.)

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • HS/GED and eleven (11) years or more of related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience using public safety communications systems (voice, data, and video) in a practical or training application
  • Public Safety or DoD communication experience
  • Teaching experience with preference to being a credentialed COML, COMT or ITSL
  • Ability to obtain a Full DoD Secret Security Clearance

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of the principles of two-way radio communication, design principles of radio equipment, earphone, telephone, and cellular telephone systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of the principles of microwave radio and multiplex communications systems
  • Knowledge of circuit design, electronic testing equipment and reading schematics
  • Knowledge of the common causes of failure that occurs in radio equipment and principles of antenna design and construction
  • Knowledge of current developments in the field of communications
