JOB POSTING
Position: Town Engineer
Location: Department of Public Works, 65 Sachem Street, Middleborough
Status: Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Wages: In accordance with General Municipal Employees Group Bargaining Unit;
salary commensurate with experience
The Town of Middleborough seeks qualified applicants for the position of Town Engineer.
Supervisory, management and professional engineering work relating to the design, construction
and maintenance of all Town engineering and surveying projects; all other related work as
required.
Responsible for the preparation of plans and working drawings; assists in overseeing
construction, inspection and quality assurance of engineering elements of Town projects. Assists
in preparation of documents for competitive bidding; oversees bid evaluations and makes
recommendations for contract award.
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering required; five years of full-time civil engineering
design and supervision experience on a variety of engineering projects, especially those
involving public works construction; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Massachusetts preferred and Massachusetts Class D
driver’s license required.
