Performs duties associated with the buying process.
Job Duties
- Responsible for Purchasing Custom Manufactured Tools.
- Regular review of Supply Demand and material usage reports, to determine weekly ordering needs.
- Review Drawings for Tool design requirements, select supplier per approved list, submit for quote.
- Analyze quotes and place Purchase orders per Quality, design, cost and delivery requirements.
- Track back orders, create weekly open order report and expedite with suppliers as needed.
- Work with Sales and Engineering; to procure Trial tools and implement into Production via Engineering Change order Process (ECO).
- Responsible for integrity of Tool inventory, count discrepancies (cycle counts) and revision level.
- Work with Quality Dept., Production, Engineering & Supplier to identify and correct quality issues.
- Report and track all potential cost savings opportunities.
- Develop and maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform work under general supervision
- Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
- Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
- May provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
- Typically require a bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years of experience
- Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer competency with Excel and ERP systems
- Ability to read and interpret Drawings
- Detail oriented
