PRO Physical Therapy & Hand Center is now seeking a full-time Therapy Technician for our outpatient orthopaedic clinic in Weston, WI.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supports physical and occupational therapy care delivery by preparing treatment areas, equipment, materials, and supplies; performing procedures, under the supervision of licensed therapists(s).
• Helps treat patients by applying heat packs; paraffin dips; helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques and other (modalities) as indicated by the supervising therapist.
• Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
• Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
• Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
• Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Protects patients’ rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
• Assists medical receptionist in obtaining revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges.
• Ensures availability of treatment information by assisting with filing and retrieving patient records.
• Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patient on equipment, as needed.
• Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instruction; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs, as needed.
• Maintains physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies, as needed.
• Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone, as needed.
• Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information; verify patient insurance benefits; and obtaining prior authorization for treatment, as needed.
• Obtains revenue by recording and collecting patient charges, as needed.
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills.
• Other duties as assigned.
