Summary

Responsible to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair wired assemblies and cable harnesses to ensure functionality according to the customer specifications utilizing a variety of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical tests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform in process continuity tests for fabricated cable/harness assemblies
• Perform various functional tests per the final ATP procedures

• Read test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used
• Connect unit to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, spectrum analyzer or automated tester
• Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such a voltage, frequency, resistance and capacitance
• Compare test results with the customer/manufacturer specifications and record test data
• Analyze test results on defective units to determine cause of failure
• Record defects and return unit to responsible department for repair
• Confer with engineers, assemblers, production personnel and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems
• Ensure test equipment and fixtures are safe and effective
