Television Inspection Technician - Water Reclamation
Job description
- Performs sewer televising equipment set up, maintenance, and storage.
- Sets up and breaks down sewer televising equipment, ensures proper attachment of lateral camera and launcher.
- Cleans truck as needed and maintains equipment.
- Performs repairs on camera; ensures correct calibration of the televising camera inclinometer.
- Records accurate information on televising and smoke testing findings.
- Places camera in manhole, sets and adjusts camera position in line, enters manholes as required.
- Obtains all street and pipeline maps and/or blueprints for daily work assignments.
- Operates equipment to clean and repair pipelines.
- Sets up all safety equipment, loads and unloads inventory, restocks vehicle.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED equivalent; with two (2) years of work experience in sanitary sewer, storm water or wastewater treatment and some exposure to videotaping production; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
- Knowledge of City and department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of cameras and equipment used in the televising process.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of wastewater collection systems.
- Skill in reading maps and blueprints.
- Skill in the use of cameras, vacuum trucks and line locators.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
