Title: RNG Operations Technical Support Specialist

The RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) Operations Technical Support Specialist has responsibility to
support RNG Operations by providing support to EDLs fleet of RNG Plants. Support will include the
review of operational efficiencies, vender procurement, media and inventory management, plant
controls/trend analysis, and providing general support for the RNG Plant Teams within EDLs North
American Operations. The RNG Operations Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for
supporting the achievement of plant performance metrics related to plant reliability, recovery, cost
effective media selection and consumption rates, and overall production goals as well as operator
training.

Key Areas of Responsibility 

Participate in the staffing rotation for start up of new RNG facilities. 

Work with the varies operational teams on advanced instrumentation and process
(SCADA) control systems 

Communicate accurately with employees, supervisors, and managers. Performing high
level of analytical and trouble shooting skills in both the gas plant and the gas field. 

Work closely with the Operations Technical Support Lead to ensure continuity of support and
successful maintenance related outcomes. 

Be knowledgeable of mechanical preventive maintenance schedules, electrical GEAMS and
maintenance schedules in support of RNG Plant compliance. 

Analyse operations and maintenance data to make recommendations for improving
productivity and efficiency in operations. 

Review plant operational efficiency, plant controls/trending analysis, plant subsystems
performance e.g. media performance. 

Plant energy and utilities efficiency analysis. 

Troubleshoot performance issues and recommend solutions. 

Interface with individual site operations teams to track goals and key dates. 

Support the deployment of appropriate reliability centered maintenance strategies across all
plants. 

Support optimization of outage plans and annual plant maintenance events. 

Coordinate single points of failure analysis and implementation of recommendations e.g.
availability of critical spares. 

Plant downtime logs and root cause analysis. 

Support the MOC process for plant improvements. 

Interface with engineering / project delivery to deliver plant improvement projects.

Participate in engineering of new RNG plants as the operations representative when needed. 

Provide development/support to the Plant Controls technicians. 

Provide relief / absence cover for operators. 

Support commissioning and operational readiness for new RNG plants or after major
outages for existing plants. 

Coordinate the deployment of standard operating practices across all RNG sites. 

Support Health and Safety processes across RNG and verify implementation of proper tools. 

Interface with compliance team to keep all operations within compliance standards. 

Support operator training for RNG Operators.

Person Specification 

Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. 

Able to work under pressure and manage frustrations. 

Good organizing skills. Able to prioritize several competing priorities. 

Identify and recommend RNG Plant improvements. 

Communicate accurately with employees, supervisors, and managers. 

Possess a high level of analytical and trouble shooting skills. 

Be available to receives training from design companies and can provide training to
individual RNG Plant Operators. 

Perform fault-finding, fixes and reporting of gas, electrical and mechanical systems. 

Be able to remotely support maintenance teams and plant staff with maintenance related
challenges. 

Proficient using computers and monitoring equipment to measure, record and adjust
equipment within operating parameters. 

Reliable, committed, and motivated to achieving Company and team goals and objectives. 

Comply with all workplace, federal, state and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations. 

Administrative duties including documenting and reporting equipment operational
parameters, operations, and condition.

Qualifications and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering. 

Prior RNG experience. 

Prior experience with system start-up and reliable operations, preferable RNG start-up
experience. 

Experience with setting and adhering to budgets and understanding of basic accounting
principles. 

Experience with setting site maintenance schedules, preferably with both gas field, gas
plant and engines 

Experience adhering to Health and safety responsibilities and requirements.

Physical Demands 

Ability to read, write, hear, and communicate adequately to complete job duties and
responsibilities. 

Must be able to see adequately to complete job duties and responsibilities. 

The work is physical in nature. Ability to stand, sit, bend, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, walk
for extended periods. 

Ability to lift 50 pounds. 

Ability to occasionally travel by automobile and/or airline for extended periods of time.
