About The Role:
SandboxAQ is a global team exploring the intersection of physics and artificial intelligence. We pursue near-term impact through rapid prototyping of quantum and quantum-inspired platforms that can be deployed by enterprises to surmount real-world challenges. At SandboxAQ we cross-pollinate ideas among a range of fields - natural sciences, computer science, medicine, and mathematics, to name just a few - to approach problems from a novel perspective. Our goal is to create a world-leading platform to revolutionize material design, chemical analysis, and drug development.
We are looking for a Product Manager who will ensure the success of our novel AI and Quantum platform for drug discovery. As a Product Manager, you will help shape the product vision, get deep with the technical team, and will drive the product strategy and roadmap for this new product. You will identify business opportunities, understand customer needs, and analyze market requirements to help us create a leading computational software platform. You will set milestones and prioritize development to reach our goals in a timely manner. You will align stakeholders, build consensus, and drive decision-making. You will build and nurture partnerships with industry leaders, the scientific community, and high-profile stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own product strategy and roadmap for our computational software platform.
- Coordinate strategy and help translate product vision into tactical roadmap and organization planning. Advocate for your plans effectively across the organization.
- Qualitatively and quantitatively identify business opportunities in the space of high-performance computational modeling in general, and material and drug design in particular
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of research scientists and engineers to bring our platform vision to life
- Assess the current landscape of quantum-aided and quantum-inspired technologies
- Working closely with customers, align technical development with customer requirements, customer feedback and market requirements
- Identify and build relationships with industry leaders and research institutions to formulate and secure strategic partnerships
Who you are:
- 3+ years industry experience in a product manager role, with experience executing from product vision to launch
- You have a track record of setting milestones, assessing/adjusting priorities, and delivering what you promised
- You are comfortable navigating conflicting priorities and ambiguous problems and thrive in a fast moving startup environment
- Ph.D. or commensurate experience in Physics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or related field
- 5+ years industry experience in computational chemistry or related software engineering role
- Solid understanding of scientific concepts, and ability to lead high-level scientific discussions about molecular biology, computational chemistry, material science or computational physics
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to a broad audience
- Capable of establishing strong working relationships across a distributed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years industry experience in a product manager role
- Experience with drug discovery and bringing projects from ideation to market.
- Experience developing and launching products in both the private and public sector in areas related to materials, drug design, or similar
- Proficiency with AI and/or scientific computing
- Masters or Ph.D. in one of the STEM fields or related areas
