Summary
The Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing the creation and publication of technical documentation. The person in this position will determine what engineering data content is critical to allow our customers to perform this task. This position works with Engineering subject matter experts to collect and interpret the production and custom designs we provide to support this work. This position will also work with our customers to make sure that we are providing the best in the industry customer experience in finding the information that they need.
Responsibilities
- Create a comprehensive technical guide that meets the customer's needs.
- Monitor engineering projects that will impact the accuracy of the information.
- Initiate changes to documentation based upon completion dates of engineering projects.
- Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
- Review and/or copyedit content developed by subject matter experts.
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Lead projects and process development efforts.
- Ensure that documentation is developed and processed to meet Engineering release schedules.
Required background experience and skills:
- BS/BA with Business Administration or 8 years equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of experience creating and publishing documentation for technical users.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
- Knowledge of computer software, such as Microsoft Office, AEM, Titania, etc.
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
