St Mary of the Mills Catholic School, in Laurel, MD has an opening for a qualified Religion Teacher (6th -8th ) either full time or part time for the upcoming 2023 - 2024 school year. This candidate can help students learn, apply higher order thinking skills, and is qualified to teach elementary school. This teacher will be required to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for an elementary school teacher and performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington DC.

Qualifications:

• BS / BA Degree in Elementary Education, Religion, or related Field.
• Current Catechist certification preferred but may be in the process of obtaining certification for consideration.
• Excellent classroom management.
• Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred and a practicing Catholic.
• Excellent presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Must have knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
• Excellent oral and written English -language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
• Good spelling and grammar required.
• Proficiency with Apple technologies such as iPad, Plus Portals, MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
