Job DescriptionTeacher's Assistant/Paraprofessional (pre-k)

-The Teacher Assistant is responsible for implementation of daily and weekly programs as assigned by supervisor for each student in assigned group.
-The Teacher Assistant is responsible for participating in in service training, CPR, behavior analysis training program and completing one book/quiz per month.Instruct students in daily proper hygiene habits.
General Responsibilities:
-Assists in any clerical work required (i.e., daily evaluations, requisitions, taking data, graphing).
-Responsible for carrying our daily activities as developed and planned.
-The Teacher Assistant is responsible for participating in Hawthorne Country Day School facility training, in service meetings, classroom meetings and building meetings.
-The Teacher Assistant participates in Activities of Daily Living.
-The Teacher Assistant assumes additional responsibilities when assigned to maintain the quality of care for all individuals.
-The Teacher Assistant assures the safety and welfare of all individuals.
Qualifications:
-High School Diploma & current NYSED Teacher Assistant Certification OR Certification obtained within 3 months of employment.
-A genuine interest in teaching students with Autism and willingness to motivate students to learn.
-Sensitivity to the needs of all students.
-A desire to acquire effective training techniques in behavior analysis programming
