OIC CAREER OPPORTUNITY

The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) Human Resources is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill a Human Resources 2, Talent Acquisition Assistant. We are looking for someone who is excited to utilize their Human Resource (HR) talent acquisition experience to assist in coordinating recruitment efforts for the agency. This position is assigned to the Executive Division, located in our Tumwater office.

As a highly motivated and deeply committed professional, you will assist with the critical task of assisting HRC senior staff with filling multiple vacancies through posting and tracking of recruitment announcements, marketing and outreach, technology assistance and coordination of application process with applicants. You will also have the opportunity to provide generalist support to agency staff.

Duties

Some of your duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Recruitment preparation, facilitation, and coordination of the process.
    • Draft, publish, and coordinate recruitment announcements through the NEOGOV applicant tracking system.
    • Invite potential candidates to apply to positions and create candidate pools.
    • Assist in the preparation and compilation of materials for recruitment activities.
    • Track interview details and coordinate electronic files from hiring managers.
    • As candidates are disqualified from being a finalist, notify candidates on their status.
  • Tracking the hiring process.
    • Monitor recruitments to ensure candidate pool.
    • Review of recruitment packets for completeness before they are submitted for hiring activities.
    • Hire candidates, close recruitments, and notify candidates on their status.
    • Run reports out of NeoGov as needed for HR staff and Director.
  • Recruitment Marketing and Outreach
    • Maintain and assist with outreach efforts on different channels such as LinkedIn, Craigslist, WorkSource, or other forms of social media platforms.
    • Post jobs on, and remove from, Intranet and Internet. Ensure hyperlinks are working and correct.
    • Research costs for external websites and organizations.
    • Coordinate with fiscal use of credit card or purchase orders for payable sites.
    • Promote OIC as an employer of choice, welcoming a broad, diverse pool of qualified candidates for positions and careers.
    • Track and update various Excel spreadsheets and produces reports for HR Director.
  • HR Generalist Support
    • Provide consultation to agency manager, supervisor and staff.
    • Track and monitor self-attestations by staff.
    • Ensure electronic medical files are updated with relevant information.
    • Assist with front desk, phone, and assists with filing, new hire onboarding, personal file transfer process, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on business, human resources, social or organizational behavioral sciences or related field. Equivalent education/experience may substitute on a year for year basis.

AND

  • One (1) year experience working with in talent acquisition, training, human resources or closely related field.
  • One (1) year experience entering job announcements using online recruiting software.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite.

    Preferred/Desired qualifications of this position include:
    • One year of experience working with state civil service rules and collective bargaining agreements.
    • Familiar with state and federal employment laws.
    • 1 year of experience in posting and closing announcements in NeoGov.
    • Intermediate skills running reports from NeoGov or other recruitment software.
    • Current professional HR certification: PHR, SHRM-CP or equivalent.
