As the Sustainable Logistics Data Project Manager, you will be a central team member responsible for the tracking, reporting, and forecasting of environmental data related to emissions and waste from Cloud Logistics’ global areas of operations. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the enterprise to implement best-in-class data models & methodologies to reduce packaging waste and transport emissions. You will also leverage data to make strategic recommendations on opportunities for driving waste and emissions reductions.
This opportunity will allow you to translate your data analysis skills into sustainability insights, partner with internal and external stakeholders to co-develop industry leading practices and be part of an award-winning supply chain team that is dedicated to innovation as a key driver of business value. This role will directly contribute to Microsoft’s carbon negative and zero waste by 2030 commitments.

Responsibilities
As the Sustainable Logistics Data Project Manager :
- You will own greenhouse gas emissions, air emissions, and waste data for benchmarking, reporting, and strategic insights.
- You will quantify the potential impacts of proposed business decisions and make recommendations to leadership on how to embed sustainability in decision making through the use of environmental data.
- You will develop and refine new and existing sustainability data governance practices, and report progress of adjustments and results and use dashboards to visualize supply chain analyses. You will support the enabling and onboarding of new sustainable logistics programs, such as sustainable packaging, mode shifting, network design...
- You will use tools and processes to manage logistics sustainability data as directed and suggest improvements to senior leadership. You’ll utilize existing models for evaluating logistics sustainability and ensure compliance with internal and external policies and frameworks, such as the GLEC, the GHG Protocol, etc.
- You will demonstrate creativity and curiosity in exploring opportunities to introduce new technologies and contribute to long-term strategy by conducting analyses. You’ll develop technical knowledge that can be applied to identify opportunities for improvement with minimal guidance.
Qualifications
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field AND 4+ years experience in supply chain or logisticso OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business/MBA, economics, sustainability, environmental science, or equivalent experience
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, PowerBI and Coupa (Llamasoft) platforms
- Experience in greenhouse gas emissions AND waste or packaging accounting/reporting
- Advanced knowledge of Excel & next level data platforms
- Experience in impact evaluation methodologies and frameworks
- Experience working with sustainability professionals
- Growth mindset with problem solving skills, including keen data insights
- Experience working in a large matrixed organization
- Track record of driving results through deep and resourceful collaboration
- Able to interpret sustainability data and anecdotal feedback, synthesize, and explain to others Communicate effectively and concisely with stakeholders and leaders about our programs and objectives.
- Demonstrable impact on a global program with clear targets and milestones.
- Data management experience specific to emissions, such as Greenhouse Gas Accounting Protocol, Global Emissions Council framework or equivalent
Fulfillment & Logistics IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
