- $13.16 - $15.64 per hour; based on previous relevant experience
ACT Peer Support Specialist Position Summary
This position will primarily be accountable for the provision of peer support activities designed to promote skills for coping with and managing psychiatric symptoms with adults.
Responsibilities for ACT Peer Support Specialist
- Assist consumers with regaining the ability to make independent choices and to take a proactive role in treatment
- Assist consumers with identifying and effectively responding to or avoiding identified precursors or triggers that result in functional impairments.
- Assist consumers in articulating personal goals for recovery
- Train and coach individuals in positive skill-building techniques for improved life management (e.g., problem solving, identifying and overcoming fears and negative self-talk).
Qualifications/Experience for ACT Peer Support Specialist
EDUCATION AND Experience:
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must self-identify as a former primary consumer of behavioral healthcare services and lived experience.
- Must have had no psychiatric hospital admissions for a minimum of one year.
Preferred:
1. Some post-high school education in the field of Human Services
