PURPOSE:
This position supports the Supply Management function by improving supplier performance and selection. Additionally this position incumbent will develop professional business relationships internally and externally.


JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Ensures a compliant and qualified supply base by conducting supplier audit and evaluations.
  • Improves supplier performance.
  • Assures Supplier Corrective and Preventive Action plans are developed and executed.
  • Leads and directs monthly MRB “Material Review Board” meetings with multiple divisions.
  • Improves supplier selection through cross-functional qualification processes and reviews.
  • Leads and/or participates in Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Maintains and monitors supplier performance and compliance to requirements through Supplier Scorecards, Audits, SCAR’s, and other reporting tools.
  • Develops positive relationships and work closely with Senior Buyers, Sourcing Specialists, and other cross-functional areas.
  • Supports supplier engineering changes and new product introductions.
  • Interfaces with Suppliers, Logistics, Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, and Quality to drive improvements that minimizes the cost of quality.
  • Remains knowledgeable and supports all Lincoln Electric policies, procedures, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Supports other Cleveland Management Entities as well as International Subsidiaries and Affiliates in the improvement of their quality systems, supplier development program or general business best practices via audit, consultation, and training.
  • Up to 40% travel, mainly domestically with occasional international travel.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.


BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical discipline is preferred.
  • Non-Technical degree combined with approximately 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, engineering. Quality assurance or other relevant experience considered.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent demonstrated experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and proficient with other Microsoft Office products desired.
  • Established problem solving, root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change
  • Experience with DFSS practices preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management System tools, continuous improvement methodologies, manufacturing processes and materials preferred.
  • Demonstrated results within all levels of the organization using concepts of design controls, design verification and validation activities; production and process controls; Supplier Corrective & Preventive Action (SCAPA), complaints & risk management; and product quality improvement tools such as six sigma, DFM, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, communicate, and implement a strategy to improve supply chain performance.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
  • Developed oral and written communication skills.
