Summary
Essential Duties
- Supervises the upkeep and repair of all existing buildings by practicing preventive maintenance in order to prolong the usefulness of the existing buildings
- Reviews scheduled work assignments of maintenance mechanics ensuring jobs are assigned on a priority basis
- Promotes in-service training for the maintenance department and provides special training for mechanics, as needed
- Conducts site visits and consults with principals
- Assists the Coordinator, Maintenance in setting up preventive maintenance programs
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures related to maintenance
- Participates in budget preparation and long range planning as it relates to maintenance of facilities
- Recommends competent personnel for employment in the Maintenance Department
- Manages Life Safety and Pest Control contracts for designated area
- Participates in reviews and resolution of facilities issues resulting from Fire Marshal and Insurance Provider inspections
- Prepares monthly work order reports from SAP work order system
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

- Ability to supervise and work effectively with departmental personnel
- Good decision-making and problem solving skills
- Understanding of building infrastructure systems
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment
- Regular exposure to weather including heat, cold, dampness, and/or humidity
Physical Demands
- Must be able to climb ladders and work from scaffolds
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances
- Must be able to stand, crouch, and climb to use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
