BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Foster Care Homes Supervisor provides direct support and supervision of foster care homes staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and implements a foster care and adoption recruitment plan including purpose, specific goals, plan of action with time line, and estimated costs
Develops and maintains relationships with referring agencies, DFPS, JJA, and others, assessing their needs for foster care placements and keeping them informed of progress
Completes written documentation of training for prospective foster families
Develops a support system and resources for prospective resource families and assist them in utilizing those supports
Participates in team meetings, sharing pertinent information regarding recruitment and resource development
May conduct PS-MAPP and Deciding Together preparation for prospective resource families.
Directly supervises FCH staff
Participates in scheduling, employee evaluations, performance improvement, and resolves staff conflicts
Provides leadership for staff
Meets regularly with assigned team staff to provide case consultation and feedback on performance
Monitors overall client and foster parent satisfaction of program and evaluates for performance improvement. Advises Program Director of the findings
Liaison with DFPS, courts, schools, providers, and communities, keeping them informed of the Foster Care program
Oversees foster family licensing, training, and development
Assures that all foster families meet Saint Francis guidelines for initial and annual reassessment
Develops and implements foster parent retention activities with input and assistance of other staff
Leads, organizes, and oversees monthly foster parent support group with assistance of staff
Participates in preparation of monthly foster parent newsletters
Develops and monitors corrective action and partnership development plans with foster parents when they are out of compliance or need growth in specific areas
Provides case management services and fills in for other staff as needed
Completes written documentation in staff, client, and foster family files in a concise and timely manner
Reports and Assures staff report critical incidents to DFPS verbally within 12 hours, written within 24 hours
Implements Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies and procedures; related accreditation and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms
Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures
Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels
Ensures clients' rights are protected
Prefer a minimum of 40 hours in-service education per year

Requirements:
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
2 years' experience working in child placement, child welfare direct services.
Bachelor's degree in social work or related degree from an accredited college or university.
PRIDE leader preferred.
Must be 21 years of age.
Must pass a drug screen, MVR, Criminal History and DFPS History Check, Centralized Background Check Unit Texas Health and Human Services Eligibility and any background checks deemed to be necessary.
FBI Fingerprint Check.
Lifting requirements 30-50 lbs.
Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving and reliable transportation.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Mandated reporter
Receives training in trauma informed practice and incorporates knowledge in day-to-day practice
Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills
Must understand child and adolescent development, treatment, and family systems
Must understand child welfare and state system
Working knowledge of family counseling techniques, both individual and group
Outgoing, engaging personality with ability to speak to large and small groups
Self-motivated and capable of managing own schedule
Must be a team player
Ability to travel though out the State and work a flexible work schedule
Manages emotions and can make decision under pressure
Organizational skills
Handles multiple priorities
Independent discretion/decision making within the scope and responsibility of the position
