The Opportunity:
As a Strategic Sourcing Category Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong and effective business partner relationships and providing strategic sourcing support to the Sephora Store Development and a subset of the Supply Chain business unit. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, you will leverage your experience to deliver significant value to key stakeholders by managing the end-to-end strategic sourcing process for Store Development (your primary spend category), with oversite including Store Fixtures, Construction, and Facilities, and to lead stretch projects in other spend subcategories such as Packaging and Warehousing, and cross-functional category collaborations as needed.
In addition, you will:
- Develop strong relationships with and be recognized as a valued partner by Store Development stakeholders, to influence business decisions
- Collaborate with Finance and Store Development stakeholders to develop strategic sourcing plans with well-defined cost savings and avoidance targets
- Achieve year-over-year improvements in Store Development spending, without sacrificing quality and service
- Conduct all phases in the development of complex contracts including reviewing statements of work or requirements, request for information (RFI), and request for proposal (RFP) development
- Partner with a broad mix of stakeholders on contract evaluation, redlining, and negotiation, such as Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and Internal Controls
- Continually improve supplier performance by setting measurable, contractual, performance targets and related supplier performance management
- Stay abreast of changes in the market such as emerging technologies and suppliers, and evaluate and address any impact of changes in supplier status (eg via acquisition)
- Build and execute a plan to identify and evaluate diverse suppliers, to increase the percentage of category spent with diverse suppliers
- Advocate for and track compliance to Sephora's Indirect Spend and Delegation of Authority policies, by delivering periodic training aka "road shows" and appropriately escalating non-compliance
- Provide thought leadership and support to ad hoc projects optimizing Strategic Sourcing's effectiveness, for example, by proposing and implementing process improvements
- Strategize across categories/departments to identify opportunities for gained efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in supplier negotiations
- Build project plans and timelines to ensure key milestones are being captured and met as it relates to the sourcing process
- Close sourcing projects in a timely manner, including but not limited to uploading executed agreements to our contract lifecycle management, and security stakeholder and finance approval on savings or cost avoidance
- Effectively communicate status updates to key stakeholders, including timely identification and escalation/resolution of issues
- Keep up to date with market trends in the category and procurement functions
- Bring best practices in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, and Indirect Procurement to drive automation and simplification.

We’re excited about you if you have:
- 5+ years of corporate/retail level strategic sourcing or procurement experience.
- Experience in sourcing store-related materials, fixtures, branded merchandising, construction, maintenance, and cleaning programs, a plus.
- Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to adapt and change quickly.
- A continuous learning mindset
- Knowledge of sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, and supplier continuous improvement programs.
- A proven track record of cost reduction and productivity improvements.
- Ability to influence and drive change while building solid relationships with your internal clients and external suppliers.
- Excellent project and timeline management skills to manage sourcing projects end-to-end from project intake, through onboarding to project closure and transition.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience and skill as a negotiator with the utilization of flexible strategies.
- Ability to successfully influence both internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills including oral, written, and interpersonal. Experience interfacing with senior-level stakeholders.
- Advanced excel skills (required).
The target annual base salary range for this position is $104,000.00 - $116,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
