Store Lead Responsibilities:

The Store Lead is responsible to help coordinate the retail departments of The Cork & More, assist with coordinating the work force, and perform duties as required to meet sales goals while producing high levels of customer satisfaction.

This includes:

• Greeting customers in a friendly manner and providing product knowledge to support food and wine sales;
• Execute cash and credit card sales using Toast terminal and become Toast POS super user;
• Meeting with sales reps and participate in product review/tastings;
• Ensure store inventory is controlled to prevent loss and damage; this will include receiving inventory and stocking, rotating products (FIFO) and conducting routine inventory counts;
• Works collaboratively with the other store team members, kitchen team, clients and vendors.
• Provide ideas and help execute in-store special events to support sales goals.

The qualified applicant is/has:

• A knowledgeable wine enthusiast and foodie at heart
• Minimum of one year in the food retail industry preferably with a focus on wines
• Basic knowledge of wine, beer, and gourmet food with a firm understanding of world wine regions
• Buying and sourcing wine experience is desirable
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel or Google Suite is required
• Comfort with retail-based mathematics
• Must be over the age of 21
• A State-issued driver’s license is preferred
• Must have valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
• Must complete California Responsible Beverage Service Training Program within 30 days of hire
• Must have a positive attitude
• The ability to stand for prolonged periods of time as well as the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Hand and finger dexterity for labeling, cutting, food packaging, and gift wrapping. Must be capable of climbing a ladder to work at reasonable heights.

Pay Range & Benefits

$17 to $19 per hour depending on relevant work experience plus benefits to include daily tips, catering tips, store discounts, and daily free meal.

Reporting Relationships

The Store Lead reports to the Store Manager and the Owner of The Cork & More.
