The schedule for this position is flexible and can be tailored to the desires of the applicant in terms of schedule. Shifts would be approximately 3 - 4 hours in the mornings of Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

Job summary

Stockers work to keep the shelves of the Lake Geneva Country Meats store filled with meat, groceries, and other perishable products while assisting customers find what they are looking to purchase.

Essential functions

• Take inventory of stock of meat, produce, grocery items, and more in the retail store.
• Move items from backstock to the retail displays for sale.
• Keep backstock areas such as freezers and coolers neat and orderly.
• Assist customers by answering questions about where items are located.

• Ability to learn where various items are stored and displayed.
• Attention to detail to ensure items are stocked in the proper places.
• Ability to display items in a tidy and visually appealing manner.
• A personable and approachable personality to interact with customers.

Work environment

This position works in our retail butcher shop and frequently moves in and out of coolers and freezers.

Physical requirements

This position must be able to:

• Fluently communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Move on a hard floor for the entirety of a shift.
• Reach items up to seven feet high, with the help of ladders / stools if necessary.
• Operate in a variety of temperature environments from a “room temperature” retail store to coolers kept in the 40º range, to freezers that are kept in the 0º range.

Education and experience

• Previous experience in a retail food environment is preferred, but not necessary.
