Staff Accountant
Job description
LEW Environmental LLC. is growing rapidly and is looking to fill the role of staff accountant. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Responsibilities:
· Track prepaid expenses and accruals including preparation of amortization schedules
· Preparation of invoice to bill clients for Fees and Expense reimbursements
· Maintain accurate Intercompany entries with other divisions
· Preform Weekly Accounts Payable Runs
· Responsible for Daily Deposits and Cash Applications
· Assist with preparation of balance sheet reconciliation such as Bank Reconciliation
· Participation in monthly and year end closings
· Assist with invoice preparation and tracking of revenues and deferred revenues by customer
· Prepare various Corporate-requested analyses and schedules, as needed
· Liaison to operations in support of expense coding for purchase orders, check requests, T&E charges
· Maintain documentation of procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
· Assist with revenue, activity, and earnings flash preparations
· Assist with maintenance and organization of accounting files (paper and electronic)
· Participate as needed in ad hoc projects for the VP of Finance
· Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
· Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
· Ability to function as a self-started and flourish in a fast-growing organization
· Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects and manage their time effectively
· A minimum of two years of experience within accounting
· 1-3 years’ progressive experience in an accounting role, including experience with month-end reporting
· Ability and willingness to interact effectively with different multiple personalities and styles, within and outside the department
· Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization clearly articulating ideas, opinions and information
· Ability to work extended hours during month-end close
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
