Job description
Working as an Application Support specialist means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills as well as problem solving skills to maintain and continuously improve our global application systems . You would support application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You will also your technical skills (mostly Python and DevOps) to deep dive into front office flow related application issues and build/enhance software solution to improve the support experience for our business users.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with the CCEM (Commodities, Currencies & Emerging Markets) Production Management team is a DevOps modelled application support team responsible for the front-office trade floor support and stability & resiliency of the global CCEM applications (Athena). We are a truly global team of 30+ members with the presence in AMER, EMEA and Asia and we use follow-the-Sun model.
  • Work directly with the Front Office traders, Middle office users as well as with our Application Development (AD) and Global Infrastructure engineers. The CCEM business is a fast growing one and it relies heavily on the technology - agility and high availability (stability) of our application software.
  • Focus in automation and tooling using DevOps principals that will continuously eliminate repeat work and enhances our productivity on YOY basis.

Required Qualifications Skills, and Capabilities
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Trade floor support and Problem solving - Primary role is problem solving, application and trade floor support. At least 4 years working experience in an investment bank as front office application support professional.
  • Development and debugging skills - Ability to debug production issues by digging into the application code (mostly Python) and software development using DevOps methods would be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Macro business concepts related to front office trading, risk, pricing and booking would be preferred, especially in FX and Commodities areas.
  • Incident management - Basic working knowledge of production incident management, root cause analysis (RCA) and related follow ups to ensure closure of the issue
  • Collaboration - Role implies collaboration with all levels of seniority including the developers, business users (including traders) and global production management teams. Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships at work.
  • Automation Design/Implementer - This is a key focus area. You will innovate, design, implement and maintain automation strategies for production system/flow and support tasks



Preferred Qualifications Skills, and Capabilities
  • Must be able to multi-task in a complex production environment and quickly acquire broad knowledge of CT tools, platforms and working practices
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Self-starter with confidence to drive issues through to completion in highly pressured environment
  • Solid investigation and analysis skills in order to recommend value-add solutions in problem focus areas
  • Multi-disciplined technology skills encompassing some or all
  • Experience with FX, commodities, fixed income and credit businesses and object-oriented database
  • Knowledge in the following coding languages: Python and C++
