Speech Language Pathologist
Job description
At the Cardinal Cushing Centers, we support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing possibilities and opportunities for growth and advancement. Our programs for students, adults and community members include education, employment training, transition services, residential care, therapeutic and recreational services.
The Speech & Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) will provide remediatory speech and language services to students as directed by a speech language pathologist.
· Provide input for speech and language diagnostic assessments for all students on caseload
· Attends all IEP meetings, reviews and transdisciplinary meetings as necessary
· Documents speech language services in the form of goals and progress reports on a quarterly basis
· Provides staff with suggestions and methodology training and interventions to be implemented in the various domains where students function.
· Schedules with staff observation and consultation time as part of the integrated service delivery model.
· Assists parents/guardians with outside consultation and/or evaluations
· Conducts hearing services on all students once a year
· Attends all school faculty meetings/in-services as scheduled
· Keeps all student-related information confidential
· Provide individual/group or collaborative/consultative services as directed to address students IEP goals
· Completes annual professional development requirements
· Maintain documentation of direct and indirect supervision from speech language pathologist
· Intervenes physically in behaviorally aggressive situations as trained

· Regular attendance and promptly reporting to work at the beginning of the scheduled shift are essential functions of this position
· Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned
· Run therapeutic groups in the residential and classroom setting
Related Work Experience
Must have clinical experience with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and/or school placement.
Formal Education
Associate's degree or Bachelor’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology
Massachusetts Speech Language Pathology Assistant license
Certifications: Receive initial certification and re-certification as appropriate in the following:
· CPR
· Safety Care
· First Aid
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
Knowledge of swallowing/voice/speech and language processing disorders relevant to population
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
