The James American Grill, opening on James Island end of June 2023, is in search of a motivated Sous Chef to join our growing company!
The James is a neighborhood restaurant offering traditional American fare in the heart of James Island in Charleston, SC. With an inviting, family-friendly atmosphere, The James offers familiar dishes and top-notch hospitality, creating a community gathering place to return to time and time again. Locally operated by The Neighborhood Dining Group, The James will open at the end of June 2023.
This position is for someone who prides themselves on operating with integrity and professionalism with a passion for serving high-quality and delicious food! The Sous Chef is responsible for managing the kitchen team and maintaining restaurant standards while fostering a positive team environment. The role requires active participation in working and executing the service line while ensuring kitchen and safety standards.

The Sous Chef:

• Possesses experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant, in a management or lead-line cook position.
• Adept at prioritizing multiple tasks with good communication and delegation skills, while staying detail oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Interested in learning and understanding all facets of management – hiring, training, scheduling, vendor relations, operations, and financial discipline.
