Position Summary:
Monitors warehouse case flow through the sortation system to ensure proper batch order, proper scanning/sorting of cases and the minimization of downtime to production.
Essential Functions:

Utilizes system productivity to minimize downtime and ensure maximum amount of cases sort correctly to ship lanes

Monitors merge screens to ensure system is running efficiently and accurately
-
Uses Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor pending, pre-sorted, and sorted statuses.

Performs walkthrough of the system before lunch and at the end of day to ensure no cases are left in system.

Turns the maximum number of cases possible to ensure labels are scanned/sorted by system

Must use proper radio communication with multiple departments

Communicates system and production issues promptly.

Follows Lockout/Tagout and Arc-flash safety procedures at all times.

Maintains merge log properly and save at end of shift.

Adheres to the Mission and Cornerstone Values and applicable practices of the organization.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
-
Proficient in the GFS Warehouse Management System.
-
Proficient with Sort Control system.
-
Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

Excellent communication skills.

Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment ( including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
