Solar Optimum is an award-winning leader in commercial and residential solar energy systems. We are currently seeking a Solar Interconnection Coordinator who will proficiently process customer applications for interconnection, while upholding customer service excellence throughout the interconnection life cycle.

Requirements:

• Handle all stages of interconnection for Solar and Energy Storage systems as needed. This includes compiling, negotiating, and obtaining interconnection agreements with utilities as needed.
• Handle the SGIP (Self-Generation Incentive Program) qualification and application process including gathering, completing, and submitting applicable SGIP documentation.
• Prepare, review, and submit a high volume of routine interconnection documents in accordance with company and various utility policies;
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with customers, developers, contractors throughout the interconnection process.
• Provide support for daily interconnection tasks, such as managing project status updates, communicating with clients/vendors, maintaining file database, etc.;
• Act as a liaison with applicants throughout the interconnection life cycle to provide guidance and assist in resolving a variety of routine issues for applicants such as assistance with incomplete or inaccurate applications.
• Work closely with the team to review and negotiate contract terms (project finance, engineering, project management, procurement, and legal);
• Daily input of appropriate notes for all interconnection tasks, manage project status updates, and generate necessary reports to complete assignments
• Phone and email communication with colleagues, customers and utilities to ensure proper documentation is obtained in a timely manner, and requirements are understood and communicated
• Identify common interconnection issues and develop suitable solutions.
• Handle incoming inquiries in a timely, efficient and professional manner
• Conduct phone inquiries and web research to analyze and document interconnection requirements and processes for various states and utilities
• All other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent in work experience
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Salesforce CRM
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain good relationships
• A professional, customer-focused approach to completing assignments and representing Solar Optimum
• Basic knowledge of utility distribution grid interconnections, net metering, renewable energy
• Ability to understand basic electrical concepts (e.g., voltage, current, power, energy)
• Interconnection experience with backup battery’s required
• Ability and willingness to adhere to applicable safety regulations and policies, and to demonstrate a commitment to safety.
