Responsibilities:
The candidate will be part of Idemia’s Enrollment Services core platform team. The team consists 6-8 software engineers focusing on developing, updating and maintaining a set of core backend applications.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Design, code and implement new features and capabilities on Idemia’s core Enrollment platform according to product requirements.
- Help update and improve the architecture of the platform through refactoring and optimizing the platform.
- Collaborate with other team members on a daily basis (daily scrums, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, etc.).
- Estimate and plan JIRA stories.
- Support and follow IDEMIA’s standard development process (SDLC).
- Participate in design reviews and code reviews.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and problem solving when troubleshooting issues with the platform in production.
- Provide guidance to more junior team members on coding best practices, design patterns and other modern software development practices.
- Provide unit tests, automation and other best practices associated with code quality best practices.
- Assist the team lead and product owner with design decisions and propose best-in-class solutions based on a given set of requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical discipline.
- Minimum 7+ years current hands-on experience with Java / J2EE / JEE technologies in enterprise settings.
- Current hands-on experience with frameworks like Spring or Springboot is highly desirable.
- Experience with RESTful Web Services and API design is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with microservices or monolith to microservice evolution.
- Some experience with DevOps, CI/CD practices, Docker containers, GitLab pipelines, etc.
- Experience developing well-tested code via unit, integration, and functional testing.
- Candidate is able to prioritize effectively, work independently and strive for high quality, and create team accountability.
- Strong communicator who owns successful engineering of the product and promotes clarity of work and positive outcomes.
- Ability to remain organized while remaining flexible to changing demands.
- Quality-first mindset demonstrated through thorough testing, documentation, stakeholder communication, and customer satisfaction efforts.
- Must be a US citizen (Dual ok).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Practice in Agile Scrum.
- AWS services and serverless technologies: S3, Lambdas, Step functions, etc.
