The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the Machine Learning Operations (MLops) team located in St. Louis region (Berkeley/Hazelwood, MO) .
As a SW Engineer for our MLops team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Kubernetes infrastructure that supports our Machine Learning Operations (MLops) services. You will work closely with our data scientists, software engineers, and DevOps team to ensure that our MLops services are reliable, scalable, and performant.
Your primary goal is to help the team deliver high-quality MLops services to our consumers by leveraging Kubernetes and other related technologies.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain solutions that support our MLops services
Collaborate with the data science, engineering, and DevOps teams to ensure that our MLops services are integrated with the infrastructure
Automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of MLops services using Kubernetes and related technologies such as Helm, Istio, and Prometheus
Implement security and compliance controls MLops services
Optimize the performance and reliability of MLops services through monitoring, logging, and performance testing
Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and best practices for the solution
Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure that MLops services meet their requirements and expectations
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
2+ years of experience as SW Engineer in a DevOps or cloud infrastructure environment
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
Strong scripting skills in one or more languages such as Python, Bash
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experience working with MLops or data science teams
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with Terraform and CloudFormation Templates
Experience in SRE and/or DevOps
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Extending and customizing Cloud Native services
Experience with micro-service, cloud-native, and distributed architectures
Experience using Agile methodologies, with a focus on Scrum and Kanban
Experience with tools for Continuous Integration/Delivery, Version Control, and Build Automation such as Git, Gitlab, and Github
Experience with Helm, Istio, and Prometheus or other related Kubernetes technologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Travel:
This position may require up to 10% travel.
Relocation:
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Summary pay range for Associate: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00
