Salary: Step 3 of the internal salary schedule which has a range of $18.75 – $27.58/hour with a starting wage of $20.25 per hour, DOE.

Senior Services for South Sound is looking for a Site Manager in our Senior Nutrition Program (SNP) at Lacey for 40 hours per week who will oversee the overall operation of the kitchen and dining room at the meal site.   • Medical, Dental,and/or Vision if working 20 hours or more per week and employed for 60 days;
  • Sick Leave in proportion to the FTE with up to 8 hours in a calendar month and no less than 1 hour for every 40 hours worked;
  • Paid Vacation withaccrual beginning on day 1 of employment at the 1-year level of service which provides up to 8 hours per month, is proportional to hours worked, and can first be taken after 6-months of employment; and

What you will be doing:

We’re looking for a Site Manager working 40 hours a week to lead the organization’s Lacey location by overseeing the overall operation of the kitchen and dining room, including knowing and following all program policies and procedures and executing its Meals on Wheels routes and routing volunteer drivers.

Key outcomes:

The Site Manager:

  • Prepares healthy, tasty, attractive, and economical meals for congregate and homebound seniors.
  • Ensures food safety practices are carefully followed.
  • Implements SNP policies and procedures in a timely manner.
  • Supervises kitchen staff and volunteers.
  • Helps recruit, hire and train volunteers.
  • Participates in staff meetings, in-service sessions and other training sessions.
  • Assists with fundraising events for the Senior Nutrition Program each year.
  • Performs other duties as required.

What you will bring:

  • Current Washington State Driver’s License; auto insurance coverage.
  • Must possess or obtain a current CPR/First Aid card.
  • Must possess a current Food Handler’s permit or obtain one within 30 days of employment and retain it at all times.
  • KSAs: food production, principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, production methods, coordination of people and resources, time management, safety, operation monitoring, good decision-making, performance assessment, quality control analysis, information ordering, oral and written comprehension, good communication skills, near vision, and works effectively with all people.

Preferred:

Applicants who also possess the following may receive additional consideration from the hiring manager:

  • AA degree or higher in culinary arts or food service.
