Site Civil AutoCAD Designer
Job description
Our client is seeking a candidate to fill a full-time Site Civil CAD Designer position in their Jacksonville, FL office. The p osition requires the ability to serve as a key member of the project design team aiding in overseeing and development of CAD-generated construction plans for site civil projects. This position will fall within our client's Infrastructure Market. The successful candidate is expected to work as an integral member of multidisciplinary design teams to plan and execute projects for a variety of clients including local governments, state departments of transportation, and private industry throughout Florida and beyond. Projects are likely to include conceptual and final engineering site design services for new facilities, site renovations, and expansions including site geometry, grading, utility design, drainage/stormwater management design quantities & development of construction cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
A Day in Life of a Site Civil CAD Designer with our client
As a site civil designer, there will be a variety of projects to work on including serving local, state, and federal clients. Interaction with regulatory agencies including local governments, USACE, FDEP, water management districts, and utility providers will be expected.
Here is a snapshot of what you would do in this role:
- Develop site civil construction plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Aide in the training and the development of staff using site civil CAD applications.
- Perform engineering calculations, utilize computer software for analysis and design, and work efficiently with other team members for project completion.
- Collaborate with Senior Technical Staff and Project Managers.
- Other duties as assigned.

Technical Skills:
- Proficient in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Hydraflow, Vehicle Tracking, AutoTURN, GEOPAK, OpenRoads Designer, and MicroStation.
- Willingness to learn related software for site civil, stormwater, transportation, and water/sewer systems design.
Soft Skills:
- Must be able to work independently and as a team member to develop and present concepts.
- Must be able to build effective relationships with internal and external client bases.
- Strong oral communication and technical writing skills.
- Sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Interest in experiencing a variety of assignments is important.
Education/Experience:
- A minimum of 8 years experience in site civil design.
- Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- The candidate must be willing to accept out-of-town assignments and work overtime to meet project demands.
- Excellent project team and client-facing communication skills.
