General Dynamics Information Technology, a world leader in Defense IT Systems Integration and Services is seeking a Project Management Professional. This position will be for full time employment and will oversee and manage GDIT’s services to provide rapid response to customer and mission requirements as they are identified. The Secure Internet Protocol Router Network Modernization Projects lead shall serve as the primary point of contact between GDIT staff and the customer with responsibility for project execution to include cost and schedule management of a five year modernization project to analyze, survey, design, implement, test, and transition equipment and operations to the government at six Army Global SIPR Network Nodes (GSN-N) locations; Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; Fort Bragg, NC; Grafenwoehr, Germany; Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; Camp Humphries, South Korea and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the single point of contact for project-related issues and incidents.
• Develop and maintain project/program plans and schedules.
• Monitor the performance of each task or group of tasks, and maintain overall responsibility (cost, schedule, performance) for the execution of the projects.
• Inform leadership of all problems and accomplishments, and act as point of contact for the government customer on project related matters.
• Serve as the authority for scheduling and accomplishing tasks and participate in identifying and implementing solutions to delays and roadblocks.
• Direct personnel on assigned work.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to project teams.
• Lead regular project planning and status meetings, documenting decisions and action items.
• Communicate critical and time sensitive project-related information directly to the client.
• Support GDIT and PM at project-related meetings to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Meet with clients to gain feedback on team performance and take action to address gaps, if any.
• Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
• Work with the customer and the GDIT team to develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and other staff members
• Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
• Manage and oversee subcontractors, as well as full time employees.
• Participate in the negotiation of projects and project changes.
• Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify project problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
• Review status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, clients and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related medical, scientific, or technical discipline is required.
• PMP Certification
• CISSP or ISACA Certification
• ITIL Foundations certified

Required Skills and Experience -

• 10 years progressive, successful experience managing projects in large, complex IT environments.
• 15 years of experience in leading teams in the execution of complex tasks, including review of work products and deliverables for correctness, compliance with industry best practices, and Federal Government standards.
• 10 years of experience translating requirements into project plans and milestones, directing and implementing plans, and presenting formal project status/plan briefings to Government managers.
• Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
• Experience managing and motivating project team members.
• Experience coordinating limited resources across multiple projects.
• Ability to monitor various projects, address issues that arise and ensure milestones are met.
• Excellent communication skills, including with technical AND nontechnical individuals.
• Excellent critical thinking judgement and decision-making skills.
• Excellent client-facing communication skills
