Job Title: Shop Mechanic - Heavy Diesel Mechanic- Heavy Equipment

Hourly Pay: $30-$35 an hour based on experience

Reports to: Equipment Manager

Position Summary:

The Shop Mechanic - Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Equipment is responsible for the proper operations of our equipment. The Shop Mechanic - Heavy Diesel Mechanic is integral in keeping operations moving by knowing how to repair heavy equipment such as larger haul trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators, skid steers, and forklifts. This is a great position for someone who would like to work on different types of large equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Must be eighteen years of age or older

· Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

· Minimum of 3 years of heavy diesel mechanic experience working on heavy equipment such as Caterpillar, Hitachi, and Komatsu equipment

· Relevant experience includes being able to perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

· Ability to install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts

· Ability to test equipment for proper operation

· Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits, drawings, and prints

· Basic knowledge of electronic cables, connections, and sensors

· Familiarization of computers to diagnose codes and troubleshoot equipment problems more efficiently

· Selection of personal tools to be used on the job. Out of the ordinary tools will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Supports mechanic diagnostics and repairs

· Conducts daily workplace safety and maintenance inspections of all critical components and systems

Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

· Pre-employment physical exam and drug screening

· Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions

· Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs.
