Shipping and Receiving Supervisor

Requirements we are looking for:

• High-energy individual with a strong work ethic, the work is fast paced and physical and sometimes are required to work under pressure
• Lift and carry a minimum of 25 up to 75lbs, materials handled vary
• 4 years prior warehouse and/or equipment experience is preferred
• Safety background
• Computer skills as well as customer service experience
• Communication is key along with being detailed oriented and having wonderful organization skills
• Would like candidate to have the ability to lead small teams and work independently
• Ability to operate a standup forklift safely

Essential Functions Include the following.

• Receive and unload incoming shipments
• Monitor shipments for defective materials and discrepancies
• Track receipt of goods in accounting system
• Schedule and prepare deliveries
• Arrange freight with carriers
• Prepare bill of lading
• Verify shipment items and quantities prior to shipping
• Enter shipping data into spreadsheet
• Monitor open sales order and purchase order reports
• Organize and maintain work area (dock, cooler) and equipment in clean and orderly condition
• Other duties as assigned by manager

A Big Plus

• Experience as a Forklift Trainer
• OSHA certified
• Export Experience
• Knowledge of Food Safety
• Negotiation experience with transportation
• Safety background with certifications would be a huge plus

The Opportunity

• You will learn all aspects of shipping/receiving operations within a warehouse facility, working alone and in teams with minimal supervision
• Work with a high level of direct contact with customer's staff and outside delivery personnel; emphasis is placed on the ability to relate in a positive, friendly manner
• Provide support and backup to warehouse manager

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

• Warehouse experience: 4 years (Preferred)
• Forklift: 2 years (Preferred)
• Warehouse supervisor: 2 years (Preferred)
