Load pallets, combos, and tanks of product on designated trailers.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares trailers at the loading dock.
• Set up CV60s and load diagrams.
• Load trailers with the appropriate products.
• Completes necessary paperwork.

Participates as a member of the team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons operating systems principles and objectives: Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities: Occasional squatting; twisting at the neck and waist; pushing/pulling; reaching above, at, and below shoulder level; lifting up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing; power grasping; repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands; Constant walking; simple grasping; fine manipulation/feeling with the hands; talking; use of vision and hearing. Work Environment: Mostly Inside work around loud equipment; some outside work; walking around drains, trailer floors, loading ramps; exposure to cold environment (coolers, refrigerated trailers); occasional heat (outside); working at heights (loading dock);

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ear plugs; gloves; hairnet/beardnet; safety shoes (steel-toed); smock; freezer coat.

Travel:

Technical Experience: Must have basic computer skills

Industry Experience:

Minimum Education: Basic math skills. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a company issued forklift and pallet jack license.

Preferred Education:

Competencies: Must be able to communicate and cooperate with others. Must have good judgment/decision-making skills. Must be attentive to detail to avoid errors in loads. Communication skills & decision quality - Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
