POSITION SUMMARY

This position receives, records, and distributes work orders to service crews upon customers' requests for service on equipment, buildings and areas, records information, such as name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered, prepares work order in Maximo and GFEBS and distributes to appropriate service crew, schedules service calls and dispatches service crew.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED EXPERIENCE
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in facility maintenance and operations or service/repair dispatch work.
• Must be polite, possess a positive attitude, and be customer focused.
• Must have data entry skills and experience using current computer software applications.
• Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
• Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Receives, records, and distributes work orders to service crews upon customers' requests for service on equipment, buildings and areas.
• Records information, such as name, address, article to be repaired, or service to be rendered in company data base Maximo and enters the information into government data base GFEBS.
• Prepares work order and distributes to service crew.
• Schedules service call and dispatches service crew.
• Calls or writes customer to insure satisfactory performance of service.
• Keeps record of service calls and work orders.
• May dispatch orders and relay messages and special instructions to mobile crews and other departments, using radio telephone equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Some climbing and balancing.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
• Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing.
• High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
• Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
• Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Limited physical accommodations available.
• This role requires work in office setting and in non-office settings such as machinery rooms, electrical distribution centers, server rooms, and industrial locations.
• Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dusts, mist, and/or fumes.
• Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
• Requires wearing personal protective equipment such as COVID-19 mask, safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
• Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test
• Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives
